Where should I stay? Do you have a room block?
We recommend staying at The Lake Arrowhead Resort & Spa. The ceremony and reception will take place on site and the property is conveniently located walking distance from the Lake Arrowhead Village.
We’ve reserved a small discounted room block which you can access using this link. You can also call to reserve your room, please mention the Christiansen-Stern wedding to receive our discount.
The resort does require a two night minimum, so if you plan to only stay Saturday evening, you will need to find other accommodations. You can find additional lodging recommendations in website’s our Travel section.
Whatever your preference for lodging, we recommend that you book quickly, as September is high season on the mountain.
-
What will the weather be like?
The average temperature in Lake Arrowhead during September is 76° with a low of 51° after sundown. The elements should allow for warm, sun filled and even water activities during the day, but please come prepared with something warmer for evening by the lake. September is also the clearest month of the year on the mountain, so don’t forget to pack your SPF and most fabulous sun hat!

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
Our wedding dress code is Cocktail Attire.
For women, a cocktail dress of any length is appropriate, as well as a dressy jumpsuit or formal separates. For men, a suit (tie optional) in any color or dress shirt with tie is suitable.
The ceremony and sunset cocktails are located outdoors on a grass lawn. After sunset, we will move indoors for the reception and dinner.
-
Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?
The ceremony and sunset cocktails will take place outside on the Lake Arrowhead Resort Lakeside Lawn overlooking the water.
The reception and dinner will be in the Arrowhead Ballroom at the Lake Arrowhead Resort.
-
How do I get around?
All wedding festivities will be located at the Lake Arrowhead Resort or within walking distance from the Village/Resort area.
The venue is conveniently located next to the Lake Arrowhead Village and almost all of our recommended activities and restaurants are accessible by foot. If you do plan to stay off site or venture away from the resort and village, be prepared that ride shares are very limited on the mountain.
-
How do I get to the venue?
This is not your typical Southern California experience. At an elevation of 5,200 feet, getting to Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa is an adventure in itself. After escaping the hustle and bustle of the L.A. area, a meandering drive along forested mountain switchbacks on Rim of the World Highway sets the stage for your arrival at the stunning lakeside setting. We recommend deep inhales of the fresh, pine-scented air as soon as you get out of your car.

Where should I park?
The Lake Arrowhead Resort offers free self-parking at the main entrance for all wedding guests and overnight guests.
-
I am traveling from out of state, which airport should I fly into?
If you are joining us from afar and arriving via plane, you may want to consider flying into Ontario, CA. The drive to Arrowhead is shorter than coming from Los Angeles (approx 40 miles).
-
I’m prone to motion sickness and afraid of heights! How should I get there?
The 330 offers a longer but less windy road up the mountain. This route will add approximately 25 extra minutes to your drive but might be the right choice for those afraid of heights, prone to motion sickness or concerned about driving on a windy road.
If it’s your first time driving into the San Bernardino Mountains, don’t try to keep up with speeding locals, drive slowly in the right lane. Take your time and enjoy the view!
-
When will food and drinks be served? Is there a vegetarian option?
You’ll enjoy a seated dinner at the reception and passed hors d’oeuvres during Sunset Cocktails.
We encourage you to explore the village restaurants and enjoy a delicious lunch on Saturday, as dinner will not be served until 7:15 PM.
There is a vegetarian option on the menu for herbivores. Special diet options can be made available for allergies, so please specify any when you RSVP.
-
What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Our ceremony is scheduled for 5:00 PM SHARP, but we encourage you to arrive by 4:45pm to enjoy the beautiful lake view and find your seat.
-
Am I allowed to bring a +1 or my children?
We have a limited headcount, so our wedding is strictly RSVP. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.
-
Where are you registered?
Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! However, for friends and family who have been asking for gift ideas, you can browse our online registry or contribute to our newlywed fund.
-
What should I do if I can't make it?
You will be missed! If you can’t make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible by RSVPing “no.”
-
You mentioned dancing shoes, do I have to dance?
YES! Our official reception policy is “dance or die”. Kidding! But there will be ample liquid courage provided and the lights will be low, so we’d love to see you on the dance floor!
-
Where will wedding updates be posted?
We will keep you informed on any changes or updates via email.
-
Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?
We hired a professional photographer to document our big day so we and our guests can be present. However, you are encouraged to capture the moment if you feel moved. Please just be respectful of our photographer and other guests, particularly during the ceremony.
Here are some quick tips for the best cell phone etiquette:
