One can not predict when lightning may strike, but there’s no mistaking when it does.

After declining to be set up by a mutual friend, Anya and Dylan met via a chance encounter at a Los Angeles house party. The sky was clear on November 6, 2010, but lightning still struck 4501 W 16th Place. Their immediate spark ignited a conversation that lasted until the wee hours of the morning. Under a new moon, they spoke about time travel, the infinite and the existential Simulation Hypothesis, but the stars did not align that night and the two parted ways.

For four long years, the Universe (or the simulation, depending on your philosophical persuasion) played a game of cosmic cat-and-mouse, pulling Anya and Dylan towards each other, only to push them apart. Though their timing was inauspicious, their magnetic attraction was undeniable, like opposite poles of a magnet.

The stars finally aligned (or the ones and zeros), and as the sky lit up with fireworks on July 4th 2014, the sparks between these two lovers at last caught flame.

Anya and Dylan have been traveling at the speed of love ever since.
